TRANS-21™ is made of PVC, a non-conductor of electricity, therefore immune to electrochemical reactions which cause corrosion. PVC is resistant to a wide range of chemicals which cause corrosion in non-PVC products. Because it does not corrode “Red Water” is not possible in a TRANS-21™ system.

Rieber Gasketed Sealing System
TRANS-21™ has deep insertion push together gasketed joints utilizing Rieber sealing system technology. This has virtually eliminated the leaks from rolled or fish-mouthed gaskets.

Smooth Interior
TRANS-21™ has a very smooth interior which provides a Hazen-Williams C Factor of 150. This ensures superior hydraulics over the long term reducing pumping costs and requiring much less cleaning. The smooth interior reduces unwanted by product buildup and therefore does a much better job of maintaining initial water quality.

Flexible Conduit
TRANS-21™ is a flexible conduit. Because it is and it does not corrode, it very easily adjusts to ground movements such as those experienced during freeze-thaw cycles and other seasonal moisture changes. Many communities have switched to PVC due to this advantage.

TRANS-21™ large diameter PVC transmission pipe has been manufactured by Diamond Plastics since 1990. It has provided superior performance for water transmission, sewage force main and agricultural irrigation applications throughout its history. It is manufactured in sizes from 14” through 48“ in 20 foot laying lengths. It is manufactured to a cast iron outside diameter (CIOD). Therefore fittings, valves and other appurtenances are readily available. It is manufactured from NSF Standard 61 certified materials meeting a 12454 cell classification with a hydrostatic design basis (HDB) of 4000 psi.

TRANS-21™ is manufactured to meet or exceed the requirements of the following:
• AWWA C905 Standard for Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pressure Pipe and Fabricated Fittings, 14” through 48”, for Water Transmission and Distribution
• CSA B137.3 Standard for Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pipe for Pressure Applications Plumbing Products and Materials.

Pipe Integrity
TRANS-21™ is each piece proof tested to twice its pressure rating. It has a short term safety factor greater than 3 against burst pressure and a long term safety factor of 2 on its pressure rating. All TRANS-21™ products utilize the Rieber sealing system technology which provides tremendous joint integrity under severe construction conditions.
